Water Quality Grant
HACD manages a Water Quality Grant through the State of Hawai‘i Department of Health - Clean Water Branch (DOH-CWB). Money for the grant comes from funding set aside by the federal Clean Water Act Section 319(h).
With this grant, HACD is able to assist the State DOH in conducting nonpoint souce pollution (NPS) control activities in a number of different ways. Our joint projects with DOH-CWB include: the development of conservation plans, the design and implementation of watershed plans, along with public outreach activities related to polluted runoff and water quality.
Hawai‘i Water Quality Conference 2008 -
Protecting Resources Throughout the Islands
The Hawai‘i Water Quality Conference, hosted by the HACD, is a forum for businesses, individuals and government agencies to discuss current and future projects regarding nonpoint source pollution. This year's conference was held at the Honolulu Country Club on March 24-25, 2008. The conference is a unique opportunity for natural resource managers, community members and scientists to discuss our need for and progress toward a healthy environment. This year's theme was an appropriate way to describe our goal for the conference.
Thank you to all of our presenters and committee members for all of their hard work!
