With the help of UH Extension Service, the Maui SWCDs host a Conservation Awareness Contest for high school students around the island every year. Participants learn about soil science and conservation practices, while competing for the chance to participate in the State Conservation Awareness Contest.
This year, students from Baldwin High School, Maui High School, Kamehameha Schools Maui Campus and St. Anthony's High School competed in the Maui Conservation Awareness Contest. Congratulations to St. Anthony's, who took home the prize and competed at the State Conservation Awareness Contest on Moloka‘i in October 2007.
