In November 2007, East Kaua‘i SWCD presented Phil & Linda Green with the Outstanding Cooperator of the Year Award at the East & West Kaua‘i Annual Recognition Dinner. The Greens, owners of Kaua‘i Organic Farm, produce ginger, noni and tropical fruits without chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers. They have been working the East Kaua‘i SWCD to implement pest resistant cover crops and green manures to improve soil quality and continue their organic practices.
